 Band

The CDS Band program is offered through Newsom Music Education, Inc. with Mr. Lamar Frazier serving as CDS Band Director.  The study of music can be a valuable step in the overall education of a child.  Some of the benefits include an increased sense of responsibility, mental discipline, teamwork, self-esteem, and a life-long appreciation and enjoyment of music.  Band if offered to students in grades 4 - 8 with students receiving expert advice on the selection of the instrument best suited to them.   Band meets twice a week during the school year.  There is an addtional fee for band instruction and instrument rental.
