 Chess

CDS offer a lunch time Chess Club for students in grades K - 5. 
Studies have shown that there can be many educational benefits to playing chess such as developing critical thinking skills, math and science skills, decision making and spatial relations and pattern recognition.  

Students are divided into skill levels learning and playing while enjoying lunch.  During the second semester, students compete in a schoolwide tournament.  There is an additional fee to participate in Chess Club.
