Middle School
Academic and Spiritual Development
| Creating enthusiasm for life-long learning is established in the middle school years. Middle school is a time of new opportunities and independence for students. Faculty, parents, and students work together to maintain a high level of accountability while students are assisted in assuming new responsibilities. The dedicated and qualified teachers offer appropriate challenges and encouragement to students as they discover ways to utilize the talents and gifts God has given them. Through a departmental approach to instruction, students begin the process of changing classes. In the language arts curriculum, the emphasis is placed reading comprehension and writing skills as the foundation for achievement in all other subjects. The additional core curriculum subjects in math, science and history equip students with an excellent foundation preparing them for the high school level. Faith is integrated into instruction in all subject areas. In chapel, students are led in praise, prayer, and worship including an age appropriate devotional time emphasizing the application of Bible principles into daily life. The middle school schedule also includes instruction by teaching specialists in art, computer, library, music, P.E. and science lab. |
