Food Drive
Here at CDS, we have the privilege each year of participating in a canned food drive for the needy living in our own neighborhoods. What a great opportunity to put our faith to action, and teach our young people to do the same! School is not always about rules, books, homework, and tests. It is also a place where students learn of God’s plan for their lives and the Kingdom work he has called each one of us to do. TOMORROW CDS will kick off our Annual Food Drive in conjunction with Central Learning Center and the Parent’s Day Out and Preschool. Click here for a list highlighting the items most needed by the families in our community. So, please start checking your cupboards now! May we encourage each family to take advantage of this time to teach Kingdom principles by giving to those who are in need. |

Family Chapel - Friday, November 6
We are excited about the upcoming Family Chapel on Friday, November 6. Parents are allowed to bring fast food lunches for themselves and their child and eat together at noon before the Family Chapel service at 12:30 in the Worship Center. Younger siblings are welcome. This is a great time to worship together as a school family.

Uniforms Needed for Missionary Student
Next week there will be a new fourth grade student in Mrs. Barnes class who will be visiting our school until Christmas. Her name is Allie Daniels. Allie currently lives in Uruguay where her parents are missionaries. Her family will be in the US for a couple of months while on furlough allowing Allie the opportunity to attend an American Christian school – something she has always wanted to do. We would like to help Allie with uniforms while she is here. If parents have any size 12 regular girl’s uniform items that they would like to loan to Allie, please send them to the school office marked with your child’s name inside. The items will be returned to you after the Christmas break. Please pray for Allie and her classmates as they start this new adventure.

Kroger Cards
Help our eighth grade students raise money for their end of the year trip to St. Louis at no additional expense to you. We are asking parents, grandparents, friends, and family school-wide to purchase $5 Kroger Cards. The card is pre-loaded with $5 (so it is FREE). Every time a Kroger Card is used to purchase, groceries, prescriptions, or gas CDS receives 5% of the total purchase. Click here to view an attachment explaining how the Kroger Card works. For a donation you can “adopt” a book for the shelves of the CDS library. In our library we have a stock of new books, from which you may choose one to adopt, or our librarian will pick one for you. The book may be in honor or memory of someone. For a student’s birthday, parents may adopt a book to be presented to the school library at chapel in the student’s name. Please make arrangements two weeks in advance for a birthday book. You may “adopt” a hard cover book for $15 or a paperback book for $7. If you would like to Adopt-A-Book, please click here.
