From the desk of Principal Spice - Which Way Do I Go?

According to Scripture. God has a plan for each of His children (Jeremiah 29:11), and the family unit is the vehicle He uses to accomplish that plan. For example, consider the following admonitions to parents: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4.

The question follows, “What is the way he should go, and what is the training and instruction of the Lord we should be teaching our children? These are things that on the surface would appear to be very clear, but in reality are not so clear-especially in today’s society where the distinction between what’s right or wrong is so often blurred.

This Wednesday at 7:00 PM, Central Church is hosting a special event for parents called, “Leading Your Child in God's World.” This free event led by Brian Houseman of Awake to Life is sponsored by Central Church's Student Ministries and Children's Ministries. Call 901.255.8194 for more information, or go to the Children’s Ministries web site at: www.centralchurch.com

Bring the kids at 6:00 for KidzCentral in the Worship Center.  At KidzCentral the entire family participates in a fast, zany, kid-focused, parent-centered, virtue driven worship service with cool music, funny characters, and lots of action.  November's Virtue - Cooperation: Working together to do more than you can do alone.

Family Chapel with speaker Dr. Ernie Frey, Central Church's Senior Pastor and CDS Dad - Friday, November 6
We are excited about the upcoming Family Chapel this FRIDAY. Parents are allowed to bring fast food lunches for themselves and their child and eat together at noon before the Family Chapel service at 12:30 in the Worship Center. Younger siblings are welcome. This is a great time to worship together as a school family.

**NO SCHOOL - MONDAY, NOVEMBER 9 for teacher in-service.**

Food Drive
CDS, Central Learning Center, and the Parent’s Day Out and Preschool will continue to collect can food/non-perishable items through Friday, November 13. Click here for a list highlighting the items most needed by the families in our community. May we encourage each family to take advantage of this time to teach Kingdom principles by giving to those who are in need.

Moms In Touch at CDS

Discovery Workshops
Discovery workshops are an excellent way for children to investigate their talents and gifts while having fun! The teachers involved are devoted to providing an enriching experience in an encouraging, Christian environment. There are still spots available.  If you are interested in signing your child up for a discovery workshop, click here for more information or to register.

Adopt-A-Book
For a donation you can “adopt” a book for the shelves of the CDS library. In our library we have a stock of new books, from which you may choose one to adopt, or our librarian will pick one for you. The book may be in honor or memory of someone. For a student’s birthday, parents may adopt a book to be presented to the school library at chapel in the student’s name. Please make arrangements two weeks in advance for a birthday book. You may “adopt” a hard cover book for $15 or a paperback book for $7. If you would like to Adopt-A-Book, please click here.
