LAST MINUTE SALES!

Fall Fundraising order forms are due TOMORROW.  There are brochures with something for everyone and great prizes for the students.  Help support CDS by offering these items to your family and friends — please remember, no door-to-door selling!  Don’t forget to have your customers make the check payable to you and then you will write one check to CDS-PTF.  If you choose not to participate, the PTF gladly accepts cash donations.  Questions? Call Jennifer Sisson at (901) 489-7225.

CDS Chess

Kindergartners through eighth graders are invited to learn to play chess at lunchtime beginning the fourth week of September.  Chess Club is under the direction of Beckie and Kaolin Levantino, experienced chess teachers at CDS.  There are two different classes based on skill level — beginner and experienced.  There will be a tournament in the spring were students compete for awards.  The cost is $35 per family per semester.  Registration/permission forms are available online (click here).  You may pay online or by sending a check made payable to CDS to the school office in an envelope marked “Chess.” The deadline to sign up has been extended to Friday, September 18.

Mid-Term Progress Reports

It's hard to believe we are mid-way through the first quarter. Now would be a good time to check your student's progress on the parent portal of TeacherEase. Click on the "Student Progress Update" tab for a summary of your child's progress in each subject. While there, you may also click on the "Attendance" tab for a summary of your child's attendance to date. We do appreciate parents who regularly monitor their child's progress through TeacherEase. It helps us all stay ahead of issues before they become problems, which has a direct and positive impact on student learning.
